After spending a solid decade in a boarding school in Istanbul (yes, ten whole years), I packed my bags and landed in Grenoble, France, in 2019. The mission? Study Political Science at Institute of Political Studies of Grenoble (IEP de Grenoble). It was supposed to be a one-year Erasmus adventure, but France had other plans for me.
The next stop was Lyon, where I continued my bachelor's degree at Université Lumière Lyon 2—still in Political Science, still trying to figure out how the world works. But let’s be honest: arriving in France during the COVID era was like showing up at a party just as the music stops. Not exactly the smooth start I had envisioned.
Despite the chaos, I always had this itch to build something, to be part of something bigger than myself—maybe a secret superhero complex, who knows? After completing my degree in 2022, I took another academic leap and joined Institute of Political Studies of Fontainebleau (IEP de Fontainebleau). This time, I wasn’t just there to study—I was on a mission to sharpen my professional skills.
During my master's program, I had the opportunity to contribute to the Student Citizen Convention, where I collaborated with the Fontainebleau local government on democratic deliberation. I am proud to declare that we as students from different backgrounds, managed to contribute to our school and our community in concrete ways. Meanwhile, out of my two years in the program, I spent a solid one and a half years gaining hands-on professional experience.
First, I worked for six months at Business France’s Istanbul Office under the supervision of French Embassy in Turkiye, as a Responsable for Invest Projects—basically, helping French and Turkish businesses make smart moves in both countries. Then, I took on the role of Export Project Manager at Pertinent Eco-Solutions, a French-American startup specializing in bio-insecticides for sustainable agriculture. I managed to make a real-world impact and helped introduce effective bio-insecticides to new markets. I spent over a year there before finally graduating from IEP de Fontainebleau in November 2024.
But my curiosity didn’t stop there. I decided to dive into the world of data—because let’s be real, in today’s world, data is king. So, I embarked on an intense (and slightly obsessive) journey into Data Analysis. I completed Google’s professional certificate in just three months instead of six— not because I am brilliant, I just had enough time. Along the way, I learned R programming, SQL, spreadsheets, and data visualization platforms like Tableau and Flourish. I even explored AI and its role in data analysis and the professional world.
Now, am I a coding wizard who can bend the digital universe to my will? Not yet. But I’ve built a strong foundation, and with every new experience, I’m adding more building blocks. You can also see them on this website as I add them as case studies.
Why data, you ask? Because it’s everywhere. It’s the invisible force shaping our world, produced every second by everyone. Analyzing it isn’t just about numbers; it’s about seeing impact, improving efficiency, and making smarter decisions—whether it’s managing a personal budget, measuring the impact of public policies by international organizations or boosting sales in a business. And the best part? The possibilities are endless when it comes to playing with big data on the internet.
So, welcome to my world— where every experience is another stepping stone in my journey of lifelong learning. I thrive on expanding my skills, tackling new challenges, and staying curious about the ever-evolving world of data and beyond. After all, growth never stops—there’s always something new to explore, master, and build upon. 🚀
